company

Our mission is to help job seekers and employers find each other as quickly as possible, easier and with the least stress.

Robota.ua has been a prominent online platform within the job search industry since its inception in the year 2000. Focused on facilitating connections between job seekers and potential employers, the platform acts as a crucial intermediary, bridging the gap between individuals seeking employment opportunities and companies in search of qualified candidates.

Goal

Conduct a comprehensive investigation to gain insights into why a majority of customers posting 0 to 5 job vacancies per month prefer the work.ua service over robota.ua.

Task

Based on the findings of the research, formulate a list of hypotheses aligned with the stated problem.

Subsequently

Present potential solutions to address this issue.

research strategy

1.

The main focus is to gather all the information shared by the client and categorize these insights appropriately

2.

Understand all opportunities and turn them into actions

3.

At the basis of the strategy — cause-and-effect relationships

4.

We move from the purpose of our research through strategy, research questions, and finally to methods and sources of knowledge

Discover

Explore and gather insights to deeply understand the problem, ensuring the right issue is addressed based on real user needs.

Client briefing

The initial client briefing holds significant importance, as it covers essential topics:

  • Clients

  • Competitors

  • Company

  • Category

Insights

All answers were collected, insights — extracted, and clustered by topics:

  • all answers

  • All insights

  • insights by topics

Define

Distill research findings into a clear problem statement, providing a focused direction and preventing wasted efforts.

Screening

Screening before product interviews is vital for efficient and effective user research. It saves time, ensures quality insights, and leads to more informed product decisions, benefiting both your resources and end result.

  • the Goal is To find respondents who publish from 0 to 5 vacancies per month

  • We are conducting this research to find out how they choose where to publish

  • Our respondents are employers who publish 0-5 vacancies

  • Segments: Business owners and HR managers

  • The difficulty of accessing the audience is 3/5

  • We will understand that we have achieved the result when we understand how to solve the problem

Interviews

12 interviews were conducted, and insights from the transcriptions were extracted and clustered:

  • 96 pains

  • 32 gains

  • 51 jobs

Develope

Brainstorm diverse solutions to the defined problem, encouraging creativity and innovation.

"How might we" questions

They help frame challenges as opportunities, inspire creative solutions, and encourage a user-centered approach, fostering innovation and problem-solving.

Prioritization

We've diligently prioritized our ideas by evaluating over 44 options through the ICE method, assessing their Impact, Confidence, and Effort. This systematic approach brings to light the most promising and attainable concepts.

We've chosen five ideas that are not only simple to implement but also promise to make a substantial impact.

Constructing hypotheses

We've transformed chosen ideas into hypotheses

Deliver

Transform the chosen solution into a practical design, ensuring it meets user needs and expectations.

Hypothesis #1

Covers a few problems:

  • Can't find how to get into the chat

  • do not understand how to write to the candidate

  • Can't see the answers from the candidate

If we add a chat button with candidates in an obvious place, and make it visible and add a notification next to the button when new messages are received, the interface of interaction with the candidate through chat on robota.yua will become simpler, recruiters will respond to candidates more often, and the overall experience will improve also candidates, and they will visit robot.ua more often for new answers from recruiters. We will be right, if recruiters and candidates use the chat more often, the number of responses in the chat to reviews from the recruiter will be higher on average throughout the robota ua service

User validation

Our hypothesis, which involves the strategic placement of a chat button, enhanced visibility, and notification features, has garnered positive feedback from users for several compelling reasons:

  • Simplified interaction

  • Increased Responsiveness

  • Enhanced User Experience

  • Higher Engagement

The use of chat has indeed led to higher response rates in candidate-recruiter interactions across the robota.ua platform. This success underscores the importance of user-centered design and the positive impact of well-placed, user-friendly features.

Solution

Hypothesis #2

The recruiter cannot choose search zones if he is looking for people for remote work, so if we add the tag "All Ukraine" and "Remote work" for vacancies and a filter for searching vacancies, then it will be easier (faster) for the employer to search for workers from other cities, more reviews from other cities. We will be right if remote jobs close faster.

User validation

Our recent implementation of the "All Ukraine" and "Remote work" tags, alongside a vacancy search filter, has received enthusiastic user feedback. The positive response can be attributed to several key factors:

  • Enhanced Search Flexibility

  • Wider Candidate Pool

  • Efficient Hiring

The positive feedback reflects the success of our hypothesis, which aimed to simplify the hiring process for remote work positions and attract candidates from different cities. This user-centered approach has been well-received, and the hypothesis's objectives have been met with user satisfaction and engagement.

Solution

Hypothesis #3

There is no notice period in the vacancy, that is, it is not clear after what period a person is ready to go to work, so we will add an input for the candidate and a mark that the employer will see on the candidate's resume, then it will be easier and faster for employers to find relevant candidates; to sort the candidates according to how urgently it is necessary to close the vacancy. We will be right if the vacancies close faster.

User validation

The introduction of a notice period input and a visible mark on candidate resumes to address the absence of notice periods in job vacancies has been met with positive user feedback. Users appreciate this feature for several reasons:

  • Clarity in Candidate Availability

  • Enhanced Relevance

The positive response to this feature reflects its success in improving the hiring process by making it easier and faster for employers to connect with suitable candidates. It aligns with our initial hypothesis and demonstrates the value of user-centered design in enhancing user experiences.

Solution

Hypothesis #4

It often happens that the proposed mailings of valid candidates do not work, because the employees are not relevant. If we make it possible for the recruiter to mark those who are most suitable for the vacancy during the processing of the list of proposed candidates, then the algorithms will be better trained to select candidates for the vacancy and offer recruiters more relevant candidates in mailings. We will be right if the number of recruiters using the feature of relevant candidate mailings increases

User validation

The introduction of a feature allowing recruiters to mark the most suitable candidates during candidate list processing has received positive feedback from users. The reasons behind this positive response are:

  • Improved Relevance

  • Efficient Matching

It's worth noting that, although not an instantly transformative feature due to algorithm training time, its positive reception underscores its value in offering more relevant candidates. This aligns with our initial hypothesis, demonstrating that user-centered design can lead to improved user experiences, even if the changes are not immediately apparent.

Solution

Hypothesis #5

Users do not fill out resumes to the end. If we add a progress bar and a percentage of potential hiring success, then the number of completed profiles will increase. We will be right if the average percentage of posted resumes increases

User validation

The implementation of a progress bar and a percentage of potential hiring success to encourage users to complete their resumes has received positive feedback. Users have responded favorably to this feature for the following reasons:

  • Enhanced User Guidance

  • Increased User Engagement

The implementation of a progress bar and a percentage of potential hiring success to encourage users to complete their resumes has received positive feedback. Users have responded favorably to this feature for the following reasons:
